What storage really costs

The space comes from your own accounts.

CloudPool does not sell storage and never stands between you and a bill. Storage comes in three kinds, and you can mix them in one drive.

Free plans

Many personal drives give every account free space, from 1 TB on TeraBox to 20 GB on MEGA and 15 GB on Google Drive. Add as many accounts as you own and the drive grows with each one.

Pay-as-you-go storage

Object storage such as Amazon S3, Backblaze B2 and Wasabi charges for what you store, sometimes after a free allowance. You sign up with the service and it bills you directly.

Your own hardware

A NAS, a server you rent or a disk on your computer costs nothing extra to connect. You keep paying for the hardware or the server, as you already do.

Pricing questions

Why is CloudPool free?

CloudPool runs on your computer and stores nothing itself: your files live in your own accounts. Its only servers are a small database that keeps your encrypted login and your share links, and this website, so another user costs very little to serve. There are no ads, no tracking and no feature held back.

Will it stay free?

There is no paid plan today, and nothing in the app is held back for one. Whatever happens to CloudPool, your files stay in your own accounts. Only files kept in pieces and private folders need CloudPool to open them.

Is my data safe?

Your files go straight between your computer and your own storage accounts; CloudPool has no file servers. Your list of accounts is stored encrypted with AES-256-GCM, and the database never holds its key. The security page has the details.

Do I need a paid storage plan?

No. Free plans alone add up fast: three free TeraBox accounts are 3 TB. Paid services are there if you already use one or need more.

Who bills me for paid services?

The service itself, on its own terms. You sign up with it directly, and CloudPool never handles payments or card details.

Are there limits on accounts or drives?

CloudPool sets none. Each service has its own terms for free accounts, so check theirs before you open several, and connect only accounts that belong to you.
